POC Parque Jaime O’Shanahan
POC Parque Jaime O'Shanahan-Telde (CPO-CA 3):
Welcome to the Permanent Orienteering Circuit “Jaime O’Shanahan Park”, in Telde, the oldest city of Gran Canaria and the second most populated municipality of the island with about 100,000 inhabitants.
This park, located in the district of Jinámar, has an extensive palm grove and a wide variety of native and exotic flora, as well as numerous recreational areas, making it an ideal place to enjoy with family or friends.
The city of Telde is also home to the CPO Parque de San Juan (CPO-CA2). A visit to the city centre will also allow you to see the Church of San Juan Bautista and the León y Castillo House Museum.
Telde also invites you to enjoy nature in the Rural Park of Doramas (hiking, leisure activities…), on one of its beaches (Playa del Hombre, Playa de Melenara and Playa de Salinetas) or discovering the pre-Hispanic culture in one of its many archaeological sites.
Last but not least, Telde’s gastronomy, which includes typical dishes such as sancocho canario, gofio and queso de flor, should not go unmentioned. Visitors can sample these delicacies in the town’s numerous restaurants and bars.
